Immersive, full-day activities:
Explore Luxembourg’s industrial past and discover places shaped by steel, mining and reclaimed nature.
Your journey begins in Esch-sur-Alzette — more precisely, at the FerroForum — where passionate volunteers bring the country’s steelmaking legacy to life. Then, head to Belval, where you can climb an iconic blast furnace for panoramic views.
In the afternoon, walk across the Giele Botter, a former open-pit mine that has transformed into a vibrant nature reserve characterised by red earth, dramatic cliffs and traces of industry that have now been reclaimed by wildlife.
The day concludes in Lasauvage, one of Luxembourg’s most atmospheric villages, where you will enjoy dinner in a location steeped in mining history and cross-border traditions.
A Day of Industrial Heritage in Luxembourg is a curated route designed for those fascinated by heritage, architecture, industry and evolving landscapes.
